πŸ’œ Career Well-being: Is LinkedIn Premium worth it?

Dear Thriving Introvert! In this newsletter, I'll cover:

  • Is LinkedIn Premium Worth It for Job Seekers?
  • Plan your year with simple goals
  • Why you're invisible to recruiters (It’s not your experience)

One of the frequently asked questions I receive every week during my free LinkedIn review calls is whether I recommend LinkedIn Premium.

I also get this question in my post comments and DMs.

To begin my honest review as a career coach, I'm not affiliated with LinkedIn.

As a job seeker, either currently employed or in between jobs, it's essential that you understand the features and how to make the most out of the ones that will help you improve your job search prospects.

Premium is not a magic tool, and it won't get you a job without your weekly effort to stay proactive and strategic on the platform. This week, you learn how to make the most out of LinkedIn and the best time to invest in Premium.

πŸ’‘ Is LinkedIn Premium Worth It for Job Seekers?

If you are currently eyeing that "Try Premium for Free" button, you are likely asking one specific question:

Is LinkedIn Premium actually worth it? Can it help me get a job?

Recruiters do not find you because you have Premium. They find you because of LinkedIn Recruiter, a separate, high-powered search engine that filters for skills, location, and seniority.

The gold badge doesn’t change your rank in their search results.

However, Premium does give you a different kind of leverage: Information.

Here are two rules of thumb before you pull out your credit card:

  • The "Readiness Rule": Do not treat the subscription as the start of your journey; treat it as the accelerant. Only pay once your profile is fully optimized with the right keywords. If your profile is vague, Premium is just expensive noise.
  • The "Stealth Mode" Setting: Did you know you can use Premium features but turn off the Gold Badge? If you want the data and InMails but don't want your current employer to see the badge, you can hide it in your settings.

But what are the 3 specific features that actually yield ROI for introverts? And how do you use the "Top Choice" signal to bypass the "Easy Apply" black hole?

Inside, you will find:

  • Why you should ignore the AI writing tools and focus on the "Who Viewed Your Profile" list.
  • How to use a single month of Premium to map the market and then cancel without guilt.
  • A quiet way to tell recruiters, "I have done my research," without posting publicly.
  • The Verdict: When to Pay vs. When to Pass.

Premium is a tool, not a strategy. Let’s make sure you have a strategy first.

πŸ’» Plan your year with simple goals

If you missed last week's article, I discussed Strategic, Not Loud: How to Set Career Goals Without the Burnout. You want to make an impact at work this year. However, the advice is to network more, post daily, and be the loudest voice in the room. All against the introverted leader energy. This often leads to Paralysis (doing nothing) or Burnout (trying to be someone you aren't). This article will help you shift your strategy from Volume to Precision.

πŸ’œ Why you're invisible to recruiters (It’s not your experience)

You can have the perfect resume, but if your LinkedIn job title is wrong, you might as well be invisible.

Recruiters don’t browse; they search.

If your headline says "Senior Professional" or "Creative Problem Solver," you are likely buried on page 15 of their results.

The Fix: You need a "Searchable Headline."

In this article, I break down exactly how to choose a title that:

  • Actually ranks in recruiter searches (Hint: Ditch the internal company jargon).
  • Aligns with what you want next, not just what you do now.
  • Let's you be visible without feeling "loud" or braggy.
